Tracking your health can help illuminate patterns and insights that can change the course of your treatment or help you keep track of everything without bogging your mind down. But it doesn't have to stop with you.
Of course, it can, and we've made Folia accessible to everyone, whether you want to contribute to research or not. Simply make sure your Research Sharing settings are "off" if you have no interest sharing your data for research.
If you want your data to be shared anonymously with researchers, you can actually earn money for doing so! Our Data Dividends program is our revenue-sharing model where you can get up to $48/year for simply tracking your health. You can learn more about Data Dividends here.
How does my Folia data advance research?
Health affects everyone uniquely. Two people can have the same condition (let's say lupus), but their experiences, symptoms, and effective treatments could be very different. Imagine, those two people are two leaves on a tree with 100,000 leaves. With just those two people's tracked data, we don't have a full picture of the true, lived experience of lupus. We only have two windows into what it might look like.
But what if we got 50,000 or even 100,000 windows (or leaves)? That's when patterns start to emerge, and despite the fact that lupus affects everyone differently, we can start to make sense of how each person's unique story fits into the bigger picture.
We achieve this by understanding what it's like to live with lupus (or any condition) day in and day out. You're the true expert - you know exactly how it feels. Researchers need your knowledge in order to develop more effective treatments that improve quality of life with minimal disruption.
In short, your story matters. What you track matters. And we want you to get paid for your contributions.
