Setting up a baseline for the PNH Research Study may help you quickly check in with yourself every day.
What is a baseline?
A baseline is the usual state of an observation or symptom.
Why should I set a baseline?
A lot of our Folia users manage the same symptoms day-over-day, and setting a baseline allows you to track how that symptom may change over time. Let’s use fatigue for example. You may experience a moderate level of fatigue everyday. By setting your baseline as moderate, you can quickly track your level of fatigue as the same, better, worse, or different than usual. You can also choose to track specific severity levels if you want too.
How do I set a baseline?
Head to your journal (calendar icon)
Click “set baselines” on the “Baseline Suggestion” banner at the top of the journal
Click on each observation or symptom that you’re keeping track of to set a baseline
Select edit baseline at the bottom of each symptom screen
Set your baseline and click save!
That’s the hardest part! After a baseline is set up, you can track your observations by comparing it to baseline, in addition to using the severity scale. The options are Same, Better, Worse, or Different.
Things change– what happens if I need to change my baseline?
Changing a baseline is just as easy as setting one up! Click the three dots to the right of the symptom or observation in your journal and edit your baseline.
